A few weeks ago, I contacted the company my Dad (& Grandpa) worked for for years … I contacted them to see if I could purchase a new coffee mug with their logo on it.
The faded mug you see in the photo is one of the few things I wanted when he passed. When I use it I feel like we are somehow still sharing moments and having coffee talk. As you can see, the logo is almost gone.
I received a response, one I didn’t expect. One that brought me all the tears – happy and excited, warm-and-fuzzy tears. A box showed up on my doorstep and I immediately saw the “A” – I knew exactly where this box came from.
The CEO of the company took the time to not only send me new mugs but also write me a letter filled with memories of my Dad and Grandpa as well as photos I have never seen! He included thoughts from people in the company that knew them and also sent toys for my kids with the infamous “A” on them. This speaks volumes about the company that my family worked for for years!
A week later, another envelope came in the mail with a copy of their monthly newsletter. In the newsletter was my + their story to honor my Dad and Grandpa. Just in time for the “Minney Open” – which is still a thing!
Today is a great day to have a great day, just like every day!
Happy Birthday Dad – you are missed by so many! I am bringing Grayson for a cupcake after daycare today …. with an Orero on top, just like you would have wanted it. I will be having beer … also just like you would have wanted it!
