oh, Son-Day

Son-Day Funday started at 4:30 a.m., due to continuing belly ache accompanied by painful diaper rash. Our poor baby can’t even sit down without discomfort. My heart hurts.

After I cleaned and consoled him, we turned on the sound of thunderstorms on a YouTube channel and laid back in bed for another two hours. After waking up, again, I made the family multi-grain pancakes which everyone seemed to devour.

I then covered the living room with towels and brought one of his potty chairs out because today my son will be pant-less. In addition to the “let it dry out” method I am also using a combination of ClaraDerma and Gentle Baby for his sensitive, pained and irritated skin – TummyGize for his belly.I am diffusing Purification to help cleanse and relax the atmosphere. Orange in my ice water, Valor on my chest and back of my neck and Stress Away on my forearms.

Sometimes in life we just need a little push in the right direction to gather momentum. We need the opportunity to nurture our emotional needs, giving our soul well deserved attention that most times goes neglected. That being said, I think it’s pretty neat that I have these uplifting oils at my disposal to help me out if I need it. This morning I felt defeated, as I write this, I am feeling hopeful and relaxed. I am prepared to spend the day mothering the best I can to my little one. I am not saying that you just rub oils everywhere and feel completely better, but man-oh-man do they help. I am thankful for them.

my daily routine : essential oils while pregnant (1st trimester)

my daily routine _ essential oils while pregnant

Here is a look inside my day as an essential oils user while pregnant.

5:05 a.m.
Wake up

5:15 a.m.
– Brush teeth with Thieves Aromabright Toothpaste
– Gargle with Thieves Fresh Essence Mouthwash Pregnancy sometimes means you need to give a little extra TLC to your teeth and gums. The thieves line is a really wonderful addition to your health and oral care.  Plus a nice morning burt of flavor and energy!
– Drop one (1) drop of Frankincense under my tongue, for positive energy and to help with anxiety and overall wellness.

5:30 a.m.
– Wash face with Orange Blossom Facial Wash
– Toner is a DIY blend of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar, Thayer’s Rose Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Essential Oil
– Spot treat, if necessary, with Manuka Essential Oil
– Apply Nourish Antioxidant Facial Serum with one (1) drop Frankincense
– Moisturize with a pre-made blend of Grapeseed Oil, Hempseed Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Frankincense, Myrrh, Geranium, Spikenard, Helichrysum – Recipe HERE

6:00 a.m.
– Apply pre-made roller bottle blend of Release & Valor to the insides of my wrists, neck and over my heart.

I use essential oils as my daily fragrance rather than perfume. Not only does it smell great but is also providing me with wonderful immune boosting benefits as well as emotional support.

6:15 a.m.
– drink 2oz Ningxia Red + 1 teaspoon MindWise. Got to keep my body pumped with vitamins and nutrients for both my overall well being and the growing baby!  MindWise helps with that lovely pregnancy brain we get! Yes, it is a real thing!

7:00 a.m.
– diffuse in my car either Stress Away or Citrus Fresh on my way to work.  Because Florida drivers, that is all I need to say!

8:00 a.m.
– When I get to my office I add choice of oil to my office diffuser.  Usually a blend of Lemon + Peppermint or Stress Away. Provides alertness, mental clarity, energy and positivity PLUS it smells great and attracts positive attention throughout the office.

8:15 a.m.
– I Take 2 MultiGreen Capsules with water after my breakfast. Again, boosting my overall wellbeing, immune system and digestive system.

10:00 a.m.
– Apply 1-2 drops RC to my temples, back of neck and then dot my finger under my nostril area (not in, around) for a morning pick-me-up.  As you may know, being pregnant can be exhausting!

– Add 1 drop Lemon Vitality to my water bottle with a small pinch of Himalayan sea salt for added minerals.  Also adding the salt give the essential oil something to attach too helping the oils evenly distribute throughout your water. (make sure you use glass or stainless steel never plastic)

12:00 p.m.
– After lunch I like to drop one (1) drop of DiGize under my tongue.  I love the taste and it helps me digest my food, get rid of that after meal bloat and helps settle my stomach.

1:00 p.m.
– refill the diffuser and add new oils for an afternoon pick-me-up.  I like anything citrus such as Orange, Grapefruit or Lemongrass and also Peppermint and RC are all great for the office.

3:30 p.m
–
turn the car diffuser on for my commute home.

4:00 p.m.
– Get home with my son and wash hands and sometimes feet (stinky boy), apply Owie Roller to his knees and any other boo-boos (combo of Lavender & Tea Tree)

– Fill home diffuser and add oils of choice such as Purification

6:00 p.m.
– Bath time for my son. I wash his hair with KidScents Shampoo and wash his body with KidScents Bath Gel
– Lotion is a DIY pre-made blend you can find my recipe here and add your desired oils based on your family’s needs.

6:50 p.m.
– He brushes his teeth with KidScents Slique Toothpaste

7:00 p.m.
– Kid’s bedtime, he has a diffuser in his room also (one in every room in the house) we like to diffuse one of the following at night:
Cedarwood + Orange + Lavender

Gentle Baby + Lavender

8:00 p.m.

words she never said…

Last week I clicked on a shared link on one of my social media sites and discovered this amazing blog entry from a fellow blogger: When Rejection Steals the Best of Who I Am by Lysa TerKeurst.

It was an incredible reminder that I need to read often.  I am guilty of this in so any ways.  I am a thinker, an over thinker actually so I dissect situations and then dissect the pieces which at times can cause a big ol’ mess in my head.

If you know me, you know I am sensitive.  I don’t like to be disliked & when I feel I am it hurts me much more than it should.  I want to know why & that wondering causes me to create a different truth which is where this woman’s story fit so perfectly into my life and my personality.  Here are the bullet points and a link to her blog.  Take a moment to read and absorb it. freevintage_0022_Hue_Saturation-81. When I’m tired or stressed, I’m likely to interpret interactions way more emotionally than I should. Therefore, I should wait to respond to others until I’ve had a chance to rest and de-stress. A depleted girl can quickly become a defeated girl when she lets emotions dictate her reactions.

2. Believe the best before assuming the worst. Even if they didn’t have my best interest in mind, they probably didn’t have the worst intentions either. Regardless, being positive will keep me in a much better place.

3. Clarify. Clarify. Clarify. When in doubt, I should ask them to help me understand what they truly meant. And when I clarify, I must recognize and resist adding any additional commentary my past hurt has added to this situation.

Can you think of a time in your life where these perspectives might help? I certainly haven’t perfected making these perspectives the first thing I think of when I’m in an uncertain situation. But at least I do think of them. And that’s great progress, so feelings from yesterday’s rejections don’t take away from today’s relationships.

“Lysa, just make sure you aren’t holding her accountable for words she never said. She didn’t say you weren’t wanted. She didn’t say you weren’t capable. She didn’t say others were thinking the same way as her. She simply said they didn’t need you there.”

13/40: Baby Bump Files

::13 weeks::004

Our baby is the size of a Matchbox Car!  About 3″ long!  The baby is also developing vocal cords at this stage in development & we are now one week away from the second trimester!matchboxToday I feel great, over the weekend I was emotional and cried a lot over pretty much nothing. Fun times *insert sarcasm*

During one of my lovely tear-filled moments this weekend my amazing, kind generous, sweet Husband handed me a unexpected gift.  I opened the package and removed a tank-top excited and confused… it was the “Feed Me & Tell Me I’m Pretty” tank top I posted on Facebook the other day with the photo comment:

when I was pregnant with Grayson I didn’t have cravings and that upset me. Now, I want food 24/7, all the food. Donuts, Pizza, Cheesey Mashed Potatoes, Bubble Tea, Tacos and Crab Legs all came to mind today. The struggle is in fact real and so in the size of this baby nest of mine.

p.s. Grayson started rumors at daycare yesterday and told everyone that he has a sister. ha.

This was the SWEETEST gift! The timing was perfect and it truly made the rest of my day go in a different direction.  Pregnancy is amazing and pregnancy is emotional.  I am the crying type. Let the good times continue to roll.

Today Big Brother decided to measure me & baby as soon as we walked in the door he ran to the tape measure and demanded I sit on the couch, lifted my shirt and said “Here you go Baby” it was so sweet, only wish I knew what was going on in his head.

He sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to the baby too. According to him, the baby is still a Sister…
